I went out today in my Skerry. We had 15 knot wind with much larger gusts. The Wayfarers were having a regatta. 

My little Skerry had no trouble dealing with this. This is probably one of the last good days we will be getting this year and its a fabulous memory to keep me going till next season.

This is the first time I've gotten on a plane on top of a wave and just stayed planing. Almost a full minute on a plane. Never happened before. I don't think theSkerry is really a planing dinghy.
