slightly off-topic: using FSA to buy supplies
As I was looking for ways to burn through my healthcare Flexible Spending Account (I lose it if I don't use it by 3/15/23) I realized I could use the money to buys some boat building safety supplies such masks and nitrile gloves. Just a tip if you are looking to save a small amount of money and have extra FSA funds to burn. Probably ethically debateable but its my money and my health/safety that are being protected.

I don't see any ethical debate. It is a bonafide benefit you've earned and contributed to, and what better way to protect your health than buying a respirator, or whatever. Compare that to buying a new pillow or band aids or any of the other multitude of things that are "appropriate" for FSA funds. I think you are far from committing any "sin" and have actually made a good recommendation for us all to consider. Sleep well! :)
