Overview

The CLC Tool Box is the boatbuilder's interpretation of the classic "tab-and-slot" type, favored by woodworkers for its ease of assembly and flexibility. As the name suggests, the tool box goes together with mortise-and-tenon joints, with two locking "keys" to hold the whole assembly together. And since it's made of premium marine-grade plywood, just like our boat and camper kits, the CLC Tool Box is rigid and durable.

How you finish your tool box is up to you. Either tab the parts together and call it a day, or coat the assembly with epoxy and varnish it for extra durability. Stain it or paint it if you'd like! Aside from serving as an excellent organizer for your boatbuilding tools, the CLC Tool Box is a great introduction to plywood kit construction.

Great little toolbox
This was a fun little diversion while building the Peeler Skiff, and also has proven to be very useful for boatbuilding. I think it turned out really nice!

Fun kit - great toolbox!
This is a really fun build that can be quick and simple or as complicated as you feel like making it. It makes a really nice toolbox that is sturdy and a good size to be actually useful. I really like that the inserts are modular so it isn’t locked into one configuration.
I built this over the course of a Saturday and had a really good time with it. I added some 1/8” dowel pins to some of the tabs just to really lock them in and hit all the touchable edges with a 1/8 round over.
I am really pleased - glad I ordered two so I can do up another one as a gift.
