Chesapeake 16LT vs Shearwater Sport build methods
I built the 16LT a year ago and am now just starting the Shearwater. I see that the method for getting the bottom panels to join the side panels is different.
Anyone know why? The C16LT method worked fine for me...so curious as to why the different approaches...and if one works better for folks than the other?
Thanks, TPJ

It's because the boats were designed quite a few years apart by different people.
Both methods work fine for the boat they were designed for. Just relax and go with it and you'll end up with a nice boat.
I had the same experience when I built a WD12 (same build methods as SS) after a CH16LT - no sheer clamps, just glue the deck to the hull using a roll of glass tape and tools on a stick. It was very daunting, but my forum friends here told me to relax, take a deep breath and go with it. I did and it worked just fine,
So be happy, don't worry and follow the directions.
