Oarlock Sockets

For mounting a second rowing station in any of our boats.

All of our rowing craft are supplied with one set of oarlock sockets along with a pair of oarlocks. 

Everything will work fine as long as you sit in the center rowing station and row solo. 

If you add another passenger, their weight in the stern will affect the boat's trim so that the stern will squat in the water in such a way that is lubberly at best and unsafe at worse.

Thus, to level the boat, the rower should move FORWARD, something that all of our rowing craft allow. You move oars and oarlocks to the second set of oarlock sockets that you install. Then your boat will be level, it rows better, and everybody is happy.

We sell three styles of oarlock sockets to fit your gunwale.  All of them take an oarlock with a 1/2" shank.

• Size of Angled Sockets: 4" x 3/4" x 1-3/4"
• Size of Side-Mount Sockets:  3-5/8" x 1-3/8"
• Size of Top Mount Sockets: 2-3/8" x 7/8" x 1"

*Screws are not included. You will need four #10 x 1" SB wood screws and four #10 x 3/4" SB wood screws.

Note that you may also need a pair of Oarlock Risers.
