Trailex PocketShip Trailer

This trailer was custom-designed and built specifically for our PocketShip. Features include all-aluminum construction for light weight and corrosion resistance. The aluminum box beams are very strong! By lowering the weight of this trail, gas mileage when towing is improved, as is the ability to maneuver it around parking lots. The trailer was originally designed so John Harris could tow PocketShip behind his 2.4 liter Honda. That trailer has now covered thousands of highway miles, including several round-trips between Annapolis, Maryland, and Port Townsend, Washington,

The PocketShip trailer includes 12" wheels plus a spare tire with mount, Super Lube bearing caps with grease fittings (Bearing Buddies), a rack jack, 1-7/8" ball,  extended tongue so you can keep the bowsprit in place, wide axle, sprung suspension matched to PocketShip, two rollers, two side bunks, running lights, winch post, winch, and a tag mount.

Unlike the SUT trailer kits, the custom PocketShip trailer comes mostly pre-assembled and will be shipped via common carrier truck. Minor assembly and some adjustments will need to be made to fit your PocketShip snugly.

It's pricier than a galvanized or steel trailer, but we think there are huge benefits in gas mileage, transmission wear-and-tear, ease of use on ramps and in parking lots, not to mention corrosion resistance. Shipping Details:

The Pocketship trailer is shipped by way of freight truck directly to your door from the Trailex factory, so each order requires a quote from the freight carrier. Unlike the SUT models, these are partially assembled at the factory and are unable to be shipped by small package services (such as UPS). These trailers are made to order at the Trailex factory in Ohio, they are not in stock at the CLC shop. 

Shipping fees will apply to orders shipped to our Annapolis, Maryland, shop.  Production turnaround time can be as much as two to four weeks, depending on the time of year. Call us for more details on availability or to get a shipping quote. PocketShip and Peeler trailers are not eligible for free trailer shipping offers.

 

Trailer Licensing and Registration:

Most states require a trailers to be licensed; please refer to your local motor vehicle administration for specific details. Each trailer is issued a Certificate of Origin by Trailex and Bill of Sale by Chesapeake Light Craft. All drop-shipped trailers will arrive before the registration paperwork. The Certificate of Origin must be sent to CLC to be signed over to the first owner of the trailer. Please allow 7-10 days for the paperwork to arrive.

Attention Louisiana customers! It is our understanding that LA law will only allow registration of in-state trailer purchases. Please check with your local laws prior to placing your trailer order.
